Overview
Pacing Guard is an interval timer application designed to help users alternate between periods of activity and rest. This privacy policy explains how Pacing Guard handles your information.
Data Collection
Pacing Guard does not collect personal data through the app.
The App operates entirely offline and does not:
- Collect personal information
- Track your location
- Access your contacts, photos, or other personal data
- Use analytics or tracking services
- Connect to external servers
- Require an account or login
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Session History: Records of your completed timer sessions (date, duration, number of intervals, and heart rate data if a strap is connected) are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device.
- Heart Rate Data: If you connect a Bluetooth heart rate strap, your heart rate readings during a session are processed on-device and stored locally as part of the session record. No heart rate data is transmitted externally.
- Settings: Your preferences (timer durations, sound settings, language, heart rate limit, etc.) are stored locally using your device's standard settings storage.
You can delete your session history at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data.
Bluetooth
The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to heart rate straps you choose to pair. Bluetooth is used solely for receiving heart rate data from your strap during a session. No data is transmitted to external devices or servers via Bluetooth.
Apple Health
Pacing Guard can optionally save completed sessions as workouts to Apple Health, including heart rate data recorded during each session. This feature is off by default and must be enabled by you in Settings.
Pacing Guard does not read any data from Apple Health. The integration is export-only — data flows from Pacing Guard to Apple Health, never the other way around. You can disable this feature at any time in Settings or revoke access through your device's Health settings.
Third-Party Services
Pacing Guard does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The App does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that collect data.
Depending on your device and platform settings, Apple may process limited device and usage information in connection with app distribution and optional diagnostics. This processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is outside the control of Pacing Guard.
Notifications
The App may request permission to send local notifications to alert you when timer phases change. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external servers.
Children's Privacy
The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Your Rights
Since the app does not collect any personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete from Pacing Guard's systems. All your data remains on your device under your control.
